Directory Features
NexDir was originally developed to implement a Yahoo style directory structure but even goes beyond Yahoo capabilities in some respects. Features include:
- Arbitrarily deep directory (category) structure.
- Categories and end content (web pages) may be intermixed.
- Content or catagories may appear at multiple places in the heirarchy (network structure).
- Category content count may be optionally displayed and is updated automatically.
- Display of empty categories is suppressed.
- "Phantom" directories are supported based on geographic criteria. These phantoms maintain their own content count and suppression criteria.
- Navigation generation is automatic and will follow to arbitrarily deep levels. In the case of cross-linked categories, cross category navigation is supported if "uplink" navigation is enabled.
